You were meant for more

If you stay still and really listen you can hear it.

If you close your eyes and focus on your body and your breath, you can feel it.

It’s a knowing! It is so strong and so deep that it cannot be denied.

You were meant for more….

You were never meant for an ordinary life, that is not why you are here and that is why life can feel so painful at times. You are conflicted between what you think you should be doing and what you know you are called to do.

Your friends and family don’t ‘get you’ and will say and do everything that can to make you conform to a life and a set of beliefs that make sense to them. You feel unheard, unsupported and completely unaccepted.

You try and muddle on, doing all the things you are supposed to do, but there will come a time when you will no longer be able to ignore the inner call, because your destiny awaits. The skills and talents that lay dormant in you will begin to emerge and demand that you recognize them and use them.

The harder you fight the harder life will feel…. its time to surrender!

Like you, I have tried to be normal, to fit in, to do what is expected and accepted and to be honest this has caused me more pain then surrendering to who I really was. In those moments of trying to please others I was in denial. I was trying to be someone else because it made other people more comfortable….

The most freeing thing I could ever do was accept with my whole heart who I was and why I am here. People may not always agree with the way I look at the world, my beliefs and quite frankly they may even think I am a little odd… but I have inner peace and a sense of calm that I didn’t think was possible, so it doesn’t matter anymore. And, because I accept me, I am open to my bigger calling!

This is what lights me up, inspires me and fills my heart with total joy, not whether I am accepted by society… on the journey there will always be friends who become strangers, and strangers who become friends!

It doesn’t matter what you believe your bigger purpose to be and that it is different to mine. You just have to believe in yourself and that it is possible.
